Connect a Kraken Futures account

Before you create a key

Use Kraken Derivatives, not the spot API. Kraken documents the derivatives key screen in How to create an API key for Kraken Derivatives. The private key is shown once. Kraken allows up to 50 keys, each with its own nonce. Create a key dedicated to PERP KING.

You need an approved PERP KING account. Connecting an exchange is optional if you only want Simulation.

A key that only views the account

1. Sign in to Kraken Derivatives. Open Settings, then the API panel, then Create Key.
2. Set General API to Read Only.
3. Set Withdrawal API to No Access.
4. Copy the public key and the private key. Kraken shows the private key only once.
5. In the terminal, paste both, confirm that you configured the key as read-only and without withdrawal permission, and submit. PERP KING checks that the account read succeeds before storing it. That check does not prove the withdrawal switch.

This key displays balances, positions, orders and fills. It cannot place or cancel orders. It is not the LIVE key.

A separate key for LIVE

1. Create a second derivatives key. Do not reuse the read-only key, and do not reuse a key that can withdraw.
2. Set General API to Full Access. Kraken describes Full Access as access to the endpoints excluding digital-asset withdrawals.
3. Set Withdrawal API to No Access.
4. Paste it in the LIVE section of the terminal. Confirm that the key can trade, and that you have not enabled withdrawal or transfer. PERP KING does not verify that switch.
5. PERP KING checks the key with Kraken, then encrypts it. The secret is not shown again.
6. Review your limits. Start LIVE by typing LIVE. Until you do, no live orders are sent.

The permission switches are explained on API permissions. What LIVE then does is on LIVE trading.

Remove or revoke a key

Delete a key in the terminal, or revoke it at Kraken. If LIVE positions that PERP KING opened are still open, the terminal refuses to remove the trade key until you Stop LIVE, which closes those positions. Revoking the key at Kraken takes effect on Kraken's side immediately. A stop order Kraken has already accepted can remain working until Kraken fills or cancels it.

PERP KING will not email you a link asking for an API secret. If something asks for that, do not paste it. Use contact or Concierge.
