Funding from a rate you type

The magnitude is position notional times the funding-rate fraction times the number of intervals.

Method

When the rate is positive, a long pays and a short receives. When the rate is negative, the signs flip. A percent of 0.01 is the fraction 0.0001 per interval. If you fill interval hours and holding hours, the interval count is holding divided by interval. Otherwise the interval count is the number you type. Many USDT perpetual venues use this sign. It is not a quote of a live rate, and a venue can define the payment differently. Kraken's linear multi-collateral contracts accrue funding continuously; this page multiplies a rate by a count of intervals and does not reproduce that accrual.

Assumptions

  • PERP KING Simulation omits funding. This calculator does not change that.
  • The rate is whatever you type. The page does not call an exchange.
