How far an isolated estimate sits from your entry
You type the entry, the leverage and a maintenance-margin percent. The page does not ask an exchange for its tier.
Method
For a long, the estimate is entry times one minus one over leverage, plus the maintenance-margin fraction. For a short, the sign of that buffer flips. If the maintenance fraction is already at least one over leverage, there is no positive distance and the page refuses the inputs. This is isolated margin only.
Assumptions
- Cross margin shares collateral. This formula does not.
- Fees, funding and the exchange's tiered maintenance schedule move the real liquidation price.
- A stop is not a liquidation. Read the liquidation note before treating this number as a floor.
