LONG, SHORT and WAIT

Every evaluated setup ends in one of three decisions. LONG and SHORT can become positions. WAIT means no order. WAIT is the common outcome.

The three decisions

DecisionMeaningOrder
LONGThe evidence supports a position that profits if the price risesOnly if the setup clears, your limits allow longs, and the mode is running
SHORTThe evidence supports a position that profits if the price fallsOnly if the setup clears, your limits allow shorts, and the mode is running
WAITThe evidence is not enough, the data is not fit, or a limit would be brokenNo order

Both directions are looked at. Restricting direction in your limits skips a side. It does not force the other side to trade.

Why WAIT is normal

A setup is refused when the readings do not agree, when the entry is late or unconfirmed, when BTC or the wider market is against it, when too little profit would remain after costs, when structure or momentum is against it, or when it would break a risk limit. Those are families of reasons, not the formula. The formula is private.

Refusals are recorded and later compared with what the market did. That follow-up is part of the audit. It is not a published track record, and it is not a promise about the next decision.

You will see periods with no new position while the system is healthy. That is WAIT, not an outage. The terminal shows whether the connection to the engine is operational, degraded or offline separately from whether it chose to trade.

After LONG or SHORT

A decision to be long or short is the start of a position, not the end of the work. The position is protected at the exchange in LIVE, managed while it is open, and closed when the reason for it is gone or when you stop that mode. Position management is that lifecycle. How it trades is the same path, told as the product.

In Simulation the same decision opens a hypothetical position. In LIVE it can open a real one, and only after you have started LIVE. Until then, a LONG or SHORT on the decision stream does not touch the exchange account you connected.

Questions

If it is watching 200 markets, why is there no trade?

Because most setups are refused. No trade means WAIT, as long as the system itself is operational. Stale data also produces WAIT for new entries.

Can I tell it to take the next LONG?

No. You can allow or disallow a direction. You cannot force an entry, and a profit target does not force one.
